Tim Sherwood Believes Spurs Will Struggle To Make Top Four

Former White Hart Lane boss thinks it will be a hard season.

TalkSport have reported that former Tottenham Hotspur Football Club boss Tim Sherwood believes the Lilywhites will struggle to break in to the top four this season. Specifically, Sherwood believes Spurs are one striker short of being well equipped enough to challenge for a UEFA Champions League berth, with the Borehamwood-born former Blackburn Rovers and England midfielder saying this about the situation on Alan Brazil's Sports Breakfast show:
Tottenham are one striker short of challenging for a top four spot. It doesn't get any easier to break into the top four. The emergence of Liverpool has put everyone€™s nose out because it€™s another spot which looks like it€™s going to be taken. Brendan has done a great job there.
Sherwood, who was axed as Spurs' boss in May of this year and replaced with Argentinian former Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino, knows all too well the threat that Liverpool pose - in addition to beating Spurs 3-0 at White Hart Lane last Sunday, the Reds did the double over them last season with an aggregate score of 9-0. Spurs' current crop of senior strikers are the inconsistent Emmanuel Adebayor, £26 million Spanish flop Roberto Soldado and youngster Harry Kane and Spurs failed to bolster that attack in the summer transfer window, so Sherwood has highlighted this as an area of weakness. Is Tim Sherwood right? Will Spurs fail to break the top four again? Is the striker shortage the main problem? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
