10 Opponents Carl Froch Could Face Next

9. Bernard Hopkins

The oldest world champion in boxing history is still going strong at the incredible age of 49-years-old. Bernard Hopkins holds both the IBF and the WBA (Super) belts at light heavyweight and is keen to take part in some more huge fights before his glittering career comes to an end. Hopkins has spoken about attempting to unify the light heavyweight division before he retires. This means that fights against fearsome punchers Adonis Stevenson and Sergey Kovalev will have to be made. This could certainly happen, but if Froch were to make him an offer then the man known as the Alien could well be interested. This is certainly a fight that would be worthy of headlining a big Las Vegas event and Froch would see it as a very winnable contest against a man 12 years his senior. Hopkins also fought recently, beating Beibut Shumenov in April, so the schedules for the two men are nicely aligned. One stumbling block may be the weight at which the fight would take place. Both men hold two world titles in their respective divisions so would be loathed to relinquish them without due reward. It seems more likely that it would be Froch moving up a weight class rather than B-Hop coming down to super middleweight at this stage of his career.
