5. Brett Lee Gives Piers Morgan A Ribbing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ePx61TkXKY A man not shy of talking a good game, journalist, broadcaster and infamous Twitter personality Piers Morgan decided to walk the walk as opposed to talking the talk when he took on Aussie legend Brett Lee in the MCG nets during the 2013/14 Boxing Day Ashes Test. In front of Mark Nicholas, Michael Vaughan, Shane Warne and a packed crowd of jeering English and Aussies alike, Morgan was left battered and bruised after facing a hostile over from the Sydney Sixers paceman as part of a bizarre Channel Nine publicity stunt. Lee, who at his peak was clocked at 99.9mph, unintentionally cracked one of Morgan's wrists and left him with a fractured rib in a stunt that was criticised and celebrated in equal measure. It didn't go down well with New Zealand great Sir Richard Hadlee who described the whole affair as "dangerous and unnecessary." He added: "I only hope that Brett takes a few minutes to reflect on his stupidity this was a brain explosion of the highest order it was a deliberate attempt to hit, injure, hurt and maim his opponent. "If was hit on the head or across the heart the result could have been devastating." "There will be many mums and dads around the world who saw that exhibition and may decide to stop their kids from playing the game."
