Transfer Deadline Day: Every Premier League Club's Best Signing Of The Window
9. Manchester United - Harry Maguire
Before signing Harry Maguire, it's safe to assume Manchester United fans were nowhere near happy with how their transfer window was shaping up. If missing out on potential game-changers like Paulo Dybala wasn't enough, they also seemed to overpay for Aaron Wan-Bissaka who, while a great addition to the squad, may not entirely be worth the £50M price tag United paid for him.
While the same could be said about Maguire, many would argue the world record fee is a worthy price for the former Leicester man. He played a vital role in England's World Cup campaign which saw them reach the semi-finals for the third time in history. Since then he has gone on to become one of the Premier League's best defenders, which he will surely hope to continue being for The Red Devils.
United have often been criticised for their weak defence over the last few seasons, and many United fans will be rejoicing over the fact that they no longer have to put Phil Jones in the starting 11. Will this signing ensure United finally return to the top 4? It's impossible to say, but with Maguire in the team, they stand a far better chance.
