Transfer Deadline Day: Every Premier League Club's Best Signing Of The Window
17. Brighton - Adam Webster
Adam Webster's signing by Brighton seemed like the end of a domino effect. The signing of Harry Maguire by Manchester United left a hole in the Leicester defence, which many believed would be filled by one of Brighton's brightest stars Lewis Dunk. While that may not have been a reality this window, Dunk's departure could still happen very soon, leaving Webster with the unenviable task of living up to the impressive example set by Dunk during his time as a Brighton player.
Luckily for The Seagulls, its a task Webster's more than capable of doing. The 24-year-old played 44 games in the championship and will surely be able to handle the rigorous premier league campaign. He's a very physical presence at 6' 3" and is known for his strength in ariel duels, making him a rock in defence but also a danger from set-pieces, especially alongside Glenn Murray.
It's hard to believe that Webster's signing will bring Brighton to new heights, but his partnership with Dunk for this season at least will surely make Brighton's defence as strong as its ever been. The new manager Graham Potter will look to live up to the impressive example set by Chris Houghton and signings like this will surely give him a good chance of doing so.
