Barcelona, AC Milan, and Ajax await the Bhoys in what has to be one of the toughest Round 1 Groups ever drawn by the competition Arsenal face a tricky group, as Marseille, German runners-up Borussia Dortmund and Italian side Napoli were drawn alongside them in Group F Manchester United escaped lightly once more, as they drew Shahkar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen, and Spanish side Real Sociedad. Chelsea should also be relatively pleased by their draw, getting FC Schalke, FC Basel, and Steaua Bucharest in one of the lighter groups. Third seeds Manchester City will have mixed emotions, as they landed with reigning champions FC Bayern Munich, along with CSKA Moscow, and Czech newcomers Vitoria Plzen. Straightforward fight for second place one would feel.
