UFC: 10 Reactions To The Jon Jones Cocaine Scandal

Reactions from fellow fighters and elsewhere!

Jon Jones has stumbled and bumbled his way through his career outside of the cage. When it comes to maintaining his image, well, he's barely managed to stay above the level of absolute disgrace at times. Homophobic slurs, exposing himself online, belittling fans, allegations of arrogance, brawling with opponents, a DUI, causing a major event to be cancelled - it has been one blunder after another for the UFC's most decorated light heavyweight champion. Now, on top of all that, comes word that Jones has failed a drug test for cocaine, and is entering rehab. While not listed as a performance enhancing drug, and not something that will result in a suspension by the athletic commission doing the testing (anything past 24 hours before a fight is considered "out of competition" and cocaine is only banned in competition, meaning basically on the day of a fight), it's a serious situation. The UFC was aware of the test weeks before UFC 182, where Jon Jones fought Daniel Cormier and retained his championship. In effect, it appears they allowed a competitor with a potentially serious drug problem to compete in a dangerous combat sport, bring questions of fighter safety to mind. Worse, it appears now that rumours of drug use by Jones have been circling for years, but had never been investigated in-depth. A lot of folks have added their two cents about the matter. Lets look at ten reactions to Jon Jones drug use admission and entry into rehab.
