UFC: Michael Bisping's 5 Biggest Controversies

4. The Ultimate Fighter: Team Bisping vs. Team Miller

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl0P5v2hNVg Okay, lets be honest here - Bisping did come off as a bit of a blowhard on The Ultimate Fighter 14, but Jason "Mayhem" Miller lived up to his name and was heavy on the pranks. Given Bisping is as easy to set off an angry hornet, well, it was only a matter of time before things went south. However, for Bisping, things went south from multiple angles. First, John Dodson of Team Miller decided to be a mole and relay info to Bisping's team. It's hard to blame Bisping for the actions of a member of the opposing team, but Bisping certainly put the info the good use and didn't do much to try and stop it. Then he failed to show up for a fight announcement, something that looked extremely unprofessional. By the end of the fourth episode, his team was down 0-4. The stupidity of the season went to new levels when Bisping hired a mariachi band to play while spraying the opposing team with fire extinguishers, an elaborate prank, but not something really necessary when your team is losing the show. After winning the coach's challenge (air hockey), Bisping also managed to make a fool of himself, falling on his ass while doing a victory dance. Most of this is either just harmless pranking or being unprofessional, and perhaps it wouldn't be such an issue were it not for the genuine dislike the coaches seemed to have for one another, and the fact that Bisping allowed the show to sink to new levels, to the point that the season was barely about the fights. Under his tenure, we had fantastic fighters such as Dodson and current bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw, as well as featherweight standout Dennis Bermudez, yet all viewers really noticed was the antics. It's something the Ultimate Fighter is still working on recovering from. Beyond that, in the lead-up to the coach's fight at the end of the season, there was ample trash talk - which Bisping initiated, then became unhappy with. When Miller called him the most hated man in America, Bisping replied "Miller's mouth is bigger than his brain." They did quash their beef after the fight, however, which Bisping dominated.
