UFC: Ranking Anderson Silva's 11 Title Fight Wins

7. Silva vs. Nate Marquardt

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9ZefLPz5gs Nate "The Great" Marquardt was Anderson Silva's first title defence at middleweight mainly because Travis Lutter had failed to make weight for Silva's previously planned bout, which was then changed to a non-title affair. It was 2007, UFC 73, and there was no controversy, no talk of clowning, just Silva at the height of his game. Coming into this bout, Marquardt was on a four fight win streak over middling competition with a giant asterisk next to one of those wins thanks to a positive test of anabolic steroids (the win was not overturned). Still, he was no match for Silva, who finished the fight by TKO in the first round.
