Obviously, that contract has minimised the chances of the forward moving on, unless significant cash is offered €“ but it€™s hard to ignore the fact that he has scored 17 league goals already this season. There will certainly be clubs near the foot of the Premier League wondering if he could step-up. The Whites currently find themselves in eighth place in the Championship, just a point adrift of the play-off places. You would think that would increase the club€™s desire to hold onto their prized asset €“ but they have been known to sell their best players before, so it€™s hard to rule it out completely.
