Watford striker Troy Deeney must be one of the hottest properties in the Championship right now, since he is a bit more established than some of the other options. The striker came out of the Aston Villa youth system, but earned his reputation playing lower league football with Walsall. Since then he has further developed playing in the Championship with Watford. His career high probably came last season when he scored 20 goals in competitions the best return of his career. Watford are currently 14th in the league and Deeney may start to get itchy feet. This season though he may well fancy his chances of bettering his tally after scoring 11 league goals already this season. Clubs towards the bottom of the EPL may well feel that he is worth a look, and Watford will find it hard to turn down decent offers due to the position they find themselves in the league. West Brom certainly has plenty of food for thought for the transfer window, and the above options would all be interesting alternatives to Nicolas Anelka. However, in truth, there are probably a number of clubs that might be having a look at them and there is certainly a feeling by many people that they could do a job in the Premier League, based on their Championship form this season.
