Remy put in another top performance against West Ham as he helped his side secure the three points. The Frenchman scored his 11th goal of the season and was a constant threat for the 90 minutes, particularly linking up well with Cabaye. Deployed as the lone striker, the on loan Frenchman continually made a nuisance of himself. He dragged defenders right across the back-four with his diagonal runs, allowing others to exploit the space he left behind. Remy's form for Newcastle this season has been nothing short of spectacular. While Papiss Cisse maybe struggling to find the net and a place in the side - the Senegalese forward was an unused substitute against West Ham - Remy is the club's top scorer. What will really excite Newcastle fans is Remy's understanding with fellow countryman Cabaye. The pair seem to have a wonderful knack of knowing just where each other and they showed this for the first goal, Remy setting the ball for Cabaye slot home. Currently, the striker is just on loan from Championship outfit QPR - who harbour hopes of reuniting the Frenchman with the squad when they return to the Premier League. However, R's boss Harry Redknapp has also admitted that every player has his price. If Newcastle want to push on and challenge for a European place then the signing of Remy is vital. The 27-year-old is the fulcrum of their attack and they would be a far less potent force without him. It is time for owner Mike Ashley to dust off the cheque book.
