West Ham 3-0 Fulham: 5 Things We Learned

5. Matt Jarvis & Stewart Downing Are Crucial To West Ham

Downing and Jarvis put in impressive performances for the Hammers against Fulham, with the former particularly catching the eye. Mohamed Diame may have been selected as man of the match but Downing was without doubt one of the standout performers for Allardyce's side. The former Liverpool player has often been criticised for never realising his potential, however it appears that his £5million move to Upton Park may have a happy ending. The 29-year-old was a constant threat on the right hand side, cutting in on numerous occasions and deliverying dangerous balls into the box. Similarly, on the other flank, Matt Jarvis proved to very effective. The former Wolves player has struggled to impress since his near £8 million move last summer, however it seems as though he may finally be settling in. The majority of West Ham's best attacks came through the wingers and the pair look as though they will be pivotal to the Hammer's success this season. Once Andy Carroll has returned and the wingers have a target to pick out in the box, you can expect their influence and assists to rise.
