West Ham 3-3 West Brom: Premier League Player Ratings

West Brom

Ben Foster: Fine save from Maiga, but then unsighted for second Hammers goal. Defensive tactics in front of him let England keeper down. 5/10.

Gareth McAuley: Right-sided Albion centre back involved in several tussles, but let down by defensive colleagues here. Could've been tighter to Nolan for third West Ham goal 4.5/10.

Jonas Olsson: Not too clever defensively for Joe Cole goal, but fine last ditch interception on Carlton Cole later in first half. Playing him in the middle between two right footers made no tactical sense when he is left-footed. 4/10.

Diego Lugano: Terrible mistake for opener and caught out of position for the Maiga goal. Uruguay skipper was swiftly subbed after this. A poor tactical choice to play this paceless wonder at left centre half, which the new Baggies boss €“ whoever that may be €“ would be wise to avoid. 3/10.

Billy Jones: Got up and down the right side well, but the system West Brom stared with gave little to no protection against Jarvis raids. 5/10.

James Morrison: Won the controversial corner from which Anelka scored his second. Outshone in the midfield by Albion captain Brunt. Subbed. 5.5/10.

Youssouf Mulumbu: Involved in build-up to first Anelka goal. Booked for lunge on Jarvis and lucky to avoid a second yellow for a foul on the same player late on. 5/10.
