West Ham Transfers: 5 Central Defenders To Target From The Championship

5. Shane Duffy (Yeovil Town)

Shane Duffy has been the standout player in the Championship this season with an average rating of 7.75, and the player is actually on loan at Yeovil Town from Everton. There is a slight complication here, since the player has only just extended his loan deal with the club. I would imagine that someone from the staff at Everton must be monitoring the performances that the 22-year-old has been putting in. I would also tend to think that they would be very reluctant to sell a future star to a Premier League rival; that all being said, it€™s very hard to ignore the performances that he has been putting out this season. His key stats this season are as follows: 1.4 tackles, 2.2 interceptions, 13.9 clearances and 2.1 blocked shots per game; the player has also managed to provide two assists so far this season. The player€™s age means that he would be a good option for West Ham for a number of years. However, there is a reason that he has been sent out on loan, in Roberto Martinez€™s opinion he is either not ready or not good enough. Under the circumstances, how confident can West Ham be that opinion is wrong?
