Who Is In The North East's Worst Team Of The Season?

11. Jozy Altidore

Jozy Altidore. Jozy. Altidore. Forget every other player on this list, because Jozy makes the rest look like a team of world beaters. Truly the worst signing Sunderland have made in many years. His fee was somewhere in the region of £8 million, with hefty wages on top of that. Altidore was meant to be the dynamic spearhead of a new Sunderland team, and was fresh from bagging 39 goals in 67 games for AZ Alkmaar, but only scored one goal in 42 league games for Sunderland, scoring just twice in numerous cup appearances also. He was a true walking disaster. Yards off the pace, disinterested at times, and had an array of bad misses to his name. The turbulent time suffered by Sunderland in the last two seasons isn't entirely his fault, but he's been the worst of the lot in red and white. The only positive note from his entire Sunderland career was his departure which lit up the path for Jermaine Defoe's move back to the Premier League.
