World Cup 2014: 10 Bets You Must Make Before The Quarter Finals

2. Argentina v Belgium - No Goalscorer

Adam Davy/EMPICS SportAdam Davy/EMPICS SportArgentina v Belgium - No Goalscorer Price: 7/1 Unlike the two teams in the last slide, neither Argentina or Belgium have been free flowing and neither have been scoring lots of goals. Both teams needed extra time goals to get through the last round, both against teams that you'd expect them to beat comfortably (Switzerland for Argentina, USA for Belgium) and both after a goalless 90 minutes. The thing with no goalscorer bets is that extra time doesn't count, so if this game is 0-0 after 90 minutes, then you're a winner regardless of what happens during extra time. What's more, is that betting on no goalscorer instead of betting directly on 0-0, means that if there is a goal in the match but it's an own goal, then you're still a winner, which wouldn't be the case if you bet on the 0-0 correct score. Both prices tend to be exactly the same as well! This is a little nugget known to most experienced punters, but could easily be missed by somebody new to the game. Expect this match to be a tight, cagey affair, as quarter finals often are. Both teams are hammered with expectation and they're both full of attacking talent that has underperformed so far in this tournament. Aguero, Higuain, Hazard and Lukaku have all been fairly poor so far and haven't looked much like troubling the top goalscorer market. The fear of losing and crashing out of the competition will win the day over the desire to win in this match and we could see it go deep into extra time or penalties, with a 0-0 final score.
