World Cup 2014: 10 Biggest Stars Who Won't Be There

4. Christian Eriksen

Along with Daniel Agger, Tottenham's Christian Eriksen became another Premier League star to miss out on next summer's World Cup after Denmark lost out on a play-off place due to having the lowest percentage of available points of the nine runners up in each of the nine league-groups. Considered one of European football's brightest young stars, Eriksen joined Spurs from Ajax this summer, where he scored 10 Eredivisie goals in his final season and being named Danish Football Player of the Year for 2013, the second time he received said honour having also received it in 2011. Both Eriksen and Denmark can consider themselves aggrieved having lost out on a play-off spot thanks to such a harsh technicality, having done well to finish behind Italy in Group B.
