World Cup 2014: 5 Southampton Players Who Could Represent England

Southampton has certainly been one of the stories of the Premier League season so far, being placed ninth in the league this season is certainly a fine achievement. However, their form and fine defensive record is far from the only reasons to love the club. It€™s more for the thing they do that seems all so rare amongst Premier League football clubs these days, which is of course giving English players a chance. It€™s a system they are well accustomed to due to having an excellent academy system is place that has produced so many great players including Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alan Shearer. However, this slideshow isn€™t about players from the academy as I have already covered that topic. Instead, we are looking ahead to the World Cup in Brazil and thinking about which players might make the final cut. In my opinion, Roy Hodgson could do a lot worse than looking in the current Southampton team for ideas.
