The wait is finally over, the World Cup is upon us and we're already looking back on a goal packed first weekend in Brazil. We're still to sit through a dreaded 0-0 draw and the goals have been flying in from all angles as the greatest show on Earth got underway in Sao Paolo last Thursday. From the Samba boy's opening triumph against Croatia to the defending champions thrashing at the hands of the Dutch, the first few group matches have certainly given supporters plenty to ponder. Pre tournament predictions have already been shredded as fans desperately check for odds on van Persie claiming the golden boot and a premature exit for Spain. And what of England? Roy's boys landed in the jungle of Manaus to face an Italian side that had passed them off the pitch two years ago.
