From the Samba boy's opening triumph against Croatia to the defending champions thrashing at the hands of the Dutch, the first few group matches have certainly given supporters plenty to ponder. Pre tournament predictions have already been shredded as fans desperately check for odds on van Persie claiming the golden boot and a premature exit for Spain. And what of England? Roy's boys landed in the jungle of Manaus to face an Italian side that had passed them off the pitch two years ago. With Andrea Pirlo still at his supreme best, the Three Lions came away empty handed but can take plenty of positives into their remaining fixtures.
