World Cup 2018: 6 England Players Whose Stock Rose (And 3 Whose Dropped)
3. Up - Kieran Trippier
Before the start of the World Cup, it is unlikely that many players other than those based in the Premier League would have ever heard of Kieran Trippier. The 27 year old has spent the majority of his career so far playing for Barnsley and Burnley, and before 2017 had never earned a single senior international cap.
In Russia however, Trippier excelled, working tirelessly on the defensive end, but more importantly was the catalyst to the majority of England's goals. The Tottenham man's set piece delivery was second to none all tournament, with the cherry on the cake being his stunning goal against Croatia.
Trippier certainly is a step up from having Harry Kane taking England's corners, and the last six games have more than solidified his place in the national side ahead of rival wing backs Nathaniel Clyne, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kyle Walker.
