World Cup 2018: 6 England Players Whose Stock Rose (And 3 Whose Dropped)

1. Up - Harry Maguire

As with Kieran Trippier, Harry Maguire would have been relatively unknown among the rest of the World Cup players. Surely there was only one Harry in the England side opposing players had to worry about, right?

Wrong. Not only was Maguire a threat from set pieces, scoring against Sweden and creating all kinds of problems for every opposition's defence, he was dangerous with the ball at his feet, motoring up the pitch, advancing the entire play in a matter of seconds. Not to mention his incredible defensive work, stopping just about any attack he could, and winning just about every header he challenged for.

Last season the Leicester man played every single minute of the season for the Foxes, and went on to feature as possibly England's most important player in their best tournament performance in years. Don't be surprised if Maguire leaves the Foxes before the start of the season, because the man deserves Champions League football and a very hefty price tag.
