Andres Iniesta may have fallen down the rankings in recent times as his power begins to waver, but he is still enormously important to both club and country. Iniestas Barcelona were bossed by Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals last season as the Catalans were dumped out of the competition by humiliating margins, but the midfielder was still able to help his club to La Liga glory. And, with the World Cup on the horizon later this summer, the 29-year-old will once more be called upon to help Spain retain their crown and become the first European nation in history to win the competition when it has been hosted in South America. Though Spain may no longer be the ruling force of Europe, it would be dangerous to write off Iniestas talents, and he is still very much one of the best midfielders to have ever played the game.
