Yohan Cabaye Not Certain Where Next Club Will Be
Although he would love to come back to England...
Former Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye is certain that he is leaving Paris Saint Germain this summer, but isn't sure where to. The French international, who only left Tyneside in January 2014 for around £19 million, has struggled to nail a place down in Laurant Blanc's side, quite often finding himself in the stands after failing to get in the former Manchester United centre back's match day squad at all. So much so that the midfielder has only managed to make 53 appearances during his 16 months in the French capital. Speaking to French newspaper LEquipe, the 29-year-old told of how he needed to leave Paris for the sake of his career, he said: "I know that if I stay, whatever I'll do, nothing will change." When asked where his future lay, former the United captain was certainly keeping his options open. "If there is an opportunity to go back to England, I hope everyone will be smart enough to do things well. But there could be other destinations." Cabaye has been heavily linked with a reunion with former Newcastle manager Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace after it was revealed The Eagles were willing to pay the reported £10 million price tag placed on his head. However, several sources this morning are reporting that Paris would be open to a loan deal, something that will suit Newcastle much more given their reluctance to spend money on players over a certain age.
