10 Actors Who Sneakily Played Two Characters In A TV Show
2. Ian Whyte - Game Of Thrones
Ian Whyte may have played the most characters in Game Of Thrones but he was also in the show from the first episode until the last season!
Whyte played the first ever white walker we meet on the show in episode one, and appeared again in season 2 as a white walker. He then took over the role of Gregor Clegane (or The Mountain) in season 2. Both characters were completely different from one another. The white walker was thin and skeletal-like with icy blue eyes and long tangled hair. The Mountain however, is a hunk of a man with dark hair and a beard; both cut closely to his head.
The Mountain was then recast because Whyte was "not big enough". But the show clearly loved him a lot, because they kept him on in the role of Dongo The Giant, who again looked completely different to his previous characters. For Dongo, Whyte was covered in face prosthetics to make him unrecognisable and to make him more "giant-like". And after Dongo was killed off, Whyte was recast in the role of ANOTHER giant Wun Wun; and once again he was hidden under extensive prosthetics.
And then, when Wun Wun was devastatingly killed off, Whyte was brought back one last time to the show in the historic "Long Night" episode as a White Giant. Ironically, the White Giant was sort of a culmination of all the characters he had played before!
