Doctor Who Class
BBC

The Trickster is not only undeniable arch nemesis to Sarah Jane and her friends, but arguably one of the most powerful beings in the entire Whoniverse. With the ability to manipulate time through a single agreement, attempting to rewrite Sarah Jane’s timeline on three separate occasions.

All to aid in creating chaos for it to sustain itself. This entity would often come to people towards the end of their lives. Offering them life if they agree to his request. These changes would give him the power he needed to change time to fit his agenda.

In his debut he tricked Andrea Yates, best friend of Sarah Jane when the pair where thirteen, into letting Sarah die in her place. Knowing that Earth would be destroyed by a meteorite without her intervention. The Trickster has made his presence known beyond The Sarah Jane Adventures with his followers, The Trickster’s Brigade, making appearances in other series.

Firstly, in the Doctor Who episode Turn Left (2008) were The Fortune Teller and Time Beetle tried to rewrite Donna Noble’s life so she never met the Doctor. And in the Torchwood: Miracle Day episode Immortal Sins (2011) in which a Brainspawn is almost used to poison Franklin Roosevelt to prevent the USA from entering the Second World War. Making the Brigade the only villains to appear in three different series.

Being one of the most popular, reoccurring and powerful entities to appear in the spinoffs, and master manipulator. With influences stretching to other series makes The Trickster the clear pick for our top spinoff villain.
