10 Best League Of Gentlemen Characters

3. Tubbs & Edward

If there was ever one particular mental image you get when you think if The League of Gentlemen, it would have to be the owners of the Local Shop for local people, cowering into one another with their piggy noses and razor teeth on full display.

As the most memorable characters of the whole series, Tubbs and Edward dominated the screen-time and a majority of the plot with their involvement in the development of the "New Road" in the first series, and then becoming the scapegoat for the nosebleeds in the second.

It's quite hard to pin-down what kind of characters Tubbs and Edward were. They were villains, obviously. As inbred serial killers who take great delight in murdering many poor souls who wandered into their shop, but there is a nativity to Tubbs that was endearing.

Edward on the other hand was completely irredeemable - aware that he was enabling his wife/sister to be menacing, and actively encouraging her wicked ways.

On rare occasions, Edward separated himself from Tubbs and appeared almost self-aware, adding a dark layer to the character that he might not be as afraid of change as Tubbs. Maybe he was the real Devil of Royston Vasey after all?

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
