Marrying Peter Davison's daughter Georgia in 2011, David Tennant proved that he's so much of a Doctor Who fan that Doctor Who is his father-in-law! It was fate really, when he was cast as the Tenth Doctor, he specifically requested that he be credited as the Doctor, rather than Doctor Who, reflecting Peter Davison's own on-screen credit.

Much like Peter Capaldi, David Tennant cites Doctor Who as the inspiration for his "single-minded" pursuit of a career in acting. As a jobbing actor, he would regularly appear in Big Finish audios and even wangled himself a role in the 40th-anniversary webcast Scream of the Shalka when he realised he was working next door to the studio.

The best example of Tennant's fandom, however, is the DVD commentary he recorded for 1983's The Five Doctors. The amount of facts and figures he casually rattles off is impressive. And like any true Doctor Who fan, he can't seem to keep away from the show for very long...
