8. Creepshow

Shudder

A follow up to the classic horror anthology films Creepshow and Creepshow 2 from the 1980s, and the best forgotten Creepshow 3 from 2006. The new series from the horror streaming service Shudder adapts short stories from the likes of Stephen King (The Shining, IT), Joe Hill (NOS4A2, Locke & Key), and Josh Malerman (Bird Box) as well as original stories.

Each episode features two chilling stories, cryptically introduced by The Creep, the show’s terrifying host. Some favourites include The House of the Head in which a young girl discovers a decapitated dolls head in her doll house which goes on to wreak havoc on its residents, and The Man in the Suitcase which tells the tale of an unfortunate man who finds his fortunate reaction to pain exploited by gold craving stoners.

Creepshow is among the first in Shudder’s slate of original shows, beginning with The Core and as a relatively new streaming service it hasn’t yet reached a large audience.

When not spending time writing bios about himself, Thomas enjoys pretending that the stories he's spent years writing are famous TV shows, achieving the same cult status as Twin Peaks or Lloyd in Space.
