10 Greatest Villain Introductions In TV History

6. Negan - The Walking Dead

Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is The Walking Dead's fan favourite villain and it's not even close, and he certainly got one hell of a coming-out party when he finally showed up in the final episode of season six, "Last Day on Earth."

At the end of the episode, the heroes are captured by the Saviors, at which point Negan exits his trailer to introduce himself with the immortal one-liner, "Pissing our pants yet?"

Negan struts around with his barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat, Lucille, and delivers a delicious monologue where he informs Rick (Andrew Lincoln) that he doesn't much appreciate him killing some of his men, and that he's imminently going to regret his actions.

Negan goes on to claim that he now owns half of Rick's group's supplies, and announces that one of his group must die as punishment for their previous transgressions.

And so, Negan plays "eeny, meeny, miny, moe" to decide the victim, after which we see Negan beat this person to death with Lucille from the victim's own perspective, leaving their identity on a cliffhanger until next season, when it was revealed to be Abraham (Michael Cudlitz).

From the palpable fear felt by Rick and co. to Morgan's sickeningly suave performance, this was an all-timer villain introduction, and when he bashed Glenn's (Steven Yeun) brains in at the start of the very next episode, fans' hatred of him was instantly cemented.
