10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About Farscape
6. Harvey
No one can ever predict what fans may latch onto when they watch a series. This is especially true when it comes to Spacers and their love for a particular neural clone. Even more in particular, to a single outfit said neural clone wore.
Making his first appearance in Season 1, Episode 19 "Nerve," Scorpius (played by the perfectly cast Wayne Pygram), the half-Sebacean and half-Scarran Peacekeeper commander, longs to extract information from Crichton's brain. After a failed attempt with torture, Scorpius tries a different approach.
A neurochip, where a neural clone of Scorpius resides. Crichton mockingly refers to the clone as Harvey, named after the invisible tall, white rabbit (a pooka) from the film of the same name. Harvey slowly became his own character, losing a large part of him that was Scorpius. This came with hilarious inner dialogues between the clone and Crichton. One such inner flash occurs on a beach where Harvey is seen wearing a garish, eye-sore of a Hawaiian shirt.
The shirt in question is a Mambo Loud Shirt in the Lost Weekend style.
Farscape fans have taken this article of clothing and made it the unofficial official shirt of the series, many wearing it to conventions to show their support and identify other Spacers in the wild. However, you may have trouble finding the EXACT shirt now. The Australian brand Mambo ceased its production of the Loud Shirt that included the design way back in 2000, but a few still pop up every now and then on eBay.
