One of House of Cards' biggest surprises in season one was the revelation that Frank had a history of being sexually involved with men. The fact that that happened during his (experimental?) college years softened the blow somewhat though, and it wasn't exactly earth shattering. However, things took a weird and unexpected turn in season two when Frank and Claire seduced a young Secret Service agent together for a threesome. This added yet another interesting wrinkle to an already very strange sexual relationship between the two, but also in some ways showed how close they are that they could so comfortably take part in this together. Meechum took a back seat in season three, but still appeared to be very protective of his boss when author Thomas Yates started stepping onto his turf (in what resulted in a sexually charged moment between him and Frank too).
