10 Most Terrifying Deaths In Modern Doctor Who

4. The Weeping Angels' Victims

First introduced in 2007's Blink, the Weeping Angels have become one of Doctor Who's most iconic foes. Quantum locked and capable of moving faster than lightning when unobserved, the Angels are most memorable for their particularly original and ingenius method of killing.

Even though the Tenth Doctor claimed them to be 'the only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely', the Weeping Angels' ability to send victims into the past and make them 'live to death' is especially scary. Feeding off the potential energy of the lives that prey could have led, these lonely assassins made terrifying and sadistic enemies.

Even when the Weeping Angels changed their M.O. from zapping people back in time, their attacks were still seen to be brutal. 2010's The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone saw regenerating Angels simply using their impressive speed to grab prey from behind and snap their necks.

Caught in a headlock, Father Octavian realised there was nothing he could do to escape his death. He couldn't escape the statue's grip, and if the Doctor blinked, the Angel would move and strike. Aware he was about to die, Octavian let the Doctor escape and paid the price - his neck being snapped in an instant.
