10 Overlooked TV Shows You Should Watch

7. Millenium

Millennium tv show
Fox

This Chris Carter series is the perfect thing for X-Files fans who want something a little darker. Starring Lance Henriksen as former FBI agent Frank Black, Millennium has found itself overshadowed by Carter's more famous X Files, despite being ranked by Rotten Tomatoes as the 87th best Sci-Fi TV show of all time.

The first season introduces Frank and the mysterious Millennium Group with whom he works; an association of freelance detectives assisting law enforcement in their investigations. With supernatural elements progressively playing a larger role, Millennium begins with more ambiguous supernaturalism and assuredly benefits from this slow build. The first series primarily focuses on Frank helping with investigations into serial killers and the like.

The fare on offer here is a good touch darker than The X Files and will appeal to those of a Hannibal/Mindhunter persuasion, even if Millennium is a little more 'out there' than either show (especially the latter). Frank can see what the killer sees, with that ability allowing for some truly horrifying imagery and sequences. All in all, Millennium is a stellar piece of dark sci fi and deserves a thorough investigation by any discerning telephile.
