10 Reasons Star Wars Fans NEED To Watch Rebels
1. A Whole Lot Of Fun
Rebels, like the Clone Wars began as a light-hearted show, which is definitely aimed at a younger audience. But during its second season, Rebels grows up, especially after the Twilight of the Apprentice finale. But throughout, Rebels is a really fun show which is just truly enjoyable for any Star Wars fan.
Whilst the narrative becomes more focused later on, with the first season being a lot of standalone fun, the overall arc Rebels takes us on is definitely satisfying to those who are invested.
Yes a lot of the fun is arguably aimed at a younger audience and is therefore childish, but some of the comedy in the show will satisfy even the an older audience. A personal highlight, which makes me laugh out loud every time (and I'm 20!), comes in the first season, when Chopper pushes another Astromech out of the Ghost when he becomes jealous of it. Chopper is definitely a source of a lot of the fun, with the arrogant little Astromech being a refreshing take on the droid character, and would be perfect along side Rogue One's K2S0.
The fun of Rebels doesn't come simply from its comedy. I bet any Star Wars fan would enjoy one of the many lightsaber fights or space battles. The animation style, based on Ralph McQuarrie's original Star Wars concept art provides beautiful shots, and a unique visual style.
Basically, Rebels is fun for anyone, if they're looking for a bit of excitement in a galaxy far, far away.
If there is one show you need to catch up on ahead of the Star Wars content to come, like the Mandalorian season two (whether the rumours are true or not), it's Rebels. Whether you've just finished the Clone Wars, are a fan of the original trilogy, or loved the Mandalorian, Rebels has something for you.
