10 Times Doctor Who Was More Like Fifty Shades Of Grey

6. The Lakertya Love Holiday

Primarily known for having funny skinned inhabitants with bad hair, Lakertya wouldn't be the first place you'd think of going for a naughty holiday. For one thing, it resembles a grey quarry and for another, traps have a habit of sealing you in a glowy ball which then flings you into a rockside to explode.

However, scratch beneath the surface and you'll find a society perfect for the 50 Shades enthusiast. For starters there's the euphemistically named 'Centre of Leisure'. Do they really expect us to believe that the Lakertyans spend all their day sat there playing dominoes? No, that's just the front of house. Ikona rather cleverly never took the Seventh Doctor around the back (so to speak). The main control centre also had individual restraint booths. You can see that Albert Einstein is rather irritated that he has to leave his to be returned to his time. Roleplay is also in vogue on Lakertya. The Rani dresses up as Bonnie Langford which is a sure sign of masochistic tendencies.

Finally, the Tetraps are keen bondage enthusiasts. Witness how they like to truss themselves up. The story ends with the Rani - bored of being a space Dominatrix in giant shoulder pads and 80s hair - indulge in a bit of submission, letting the Tetraps tie her up. Thankfully (or maybe not), the episode ended before viewers saw the clamps come out.
