10 TV Shows Star Trek Actors Want You To Forget

9. Glenn Martin DDS - Jonathan Frakes

Nick at Nite

The former CEO of Disney, Michael Eisner, put up his own money to produce the pilot of this claymation show, pitching the idea to Nick at Nite rather than ABC, as he felt the former channel had a better track record of nurturing shows. The sitcom was designed to be a love letter to seventies shows and it included a laugh track, something extremely unusual for animated shows, later removed at the request of the show's creators.

Frakes appears in the episode GlennHog Day, alongside other Trek alumni George Takei and Jason Alexander. The episode is effectively a rehash of the Groundhog Day film. It was the sixth to last episode of the show overall, thanks to the reviews that killed it.

The first and biggest problem was the laugh track. From the beginning, rather than encouraging the audience to laugh along, the track simply highlighted the parts of the script that weren't funny to begin with. The second issue was the adult nature of the show and the timeslot it was airing at. One Florida mother complained that it was on TV directly after Spongebob Squarepants, though it was full of sexual references. In response, the show was moved to the death slot of Friday nights at 10.30 pm.

With only two seasons, the show was cancelled and quietly buried.
