Echoing episodes of Buffy like "Band Candy" and "Tabula Rasa" in which most of the cast lose their memories or regress to younger versions of themselves, "Spin The Bottle" sees the Angel cast returning to their 17-year old states of minds, a state which has some dangerous but mostly damned amusing consequences. Stuck in the lobby of Angel's hotel-cum-agency office together after a memory spell gone awry, the characters try to figure out what happened to them and why they all look so much older than they feel. Much joy comes from seeing Angel, Wesley and Cordelia revert to the versions of themselves we'd come to know through their initial appearances in Buffy (or, in Angel's case as his original human identity, Liam, in flashbacks), but also from the newer additions to the team, all of whom have complex relationships with the world and other people.
