15 Best Sci-Fi TV Shows Of The 2010s

3. Twin Peaks: The Return

Some might debate the inclusion of Twin Peaks: The Return on this list because it was retroactively marketed as the original show's third season, but the event series was initially treated like its own monster when it hit screens back in 2017 and the truth is that it should have always remained that way - because it is its own monster.

A strange offshoot of the original Twin Peaks, The Return is set 25 years after the events of the show's second season and features a number of the original cast members returning to their iconic roles. That, however, is where the similarities stop, because this Lynchian nightmare couldn't have been further removed from the original show if it tried. And that, right there, in an odd way is the beauty of David Lynch.

If you read our list of the 25 greatest sci-fi shows of all-time, you'll know this writer pondered over whether or not Twin Peaks is science fiction or a genre in and of itself, but because of how expertly it uses every genre under the sun in its own creative ways - including sci-fi - it would be ludicrious to overlook it.
