Is Steven Moffat on the way out? It's been suggested that the title is a cryptic reference to the fact that this will be Steven Moffat's last Christmas Special at the helm of Doctor Who as its head writer and showrunner. If true, it didn't take long for the eagle-eyed fans to decipher his cryptic clue. Approximately 33 seconds, to be precise. We know that he'll be back for Series 9 at least, with pre-production already underway and filming due to commence in Cardiff in January. After introducing Missy in Series 8, and Michelle Gomez already confirming she'll be back next year, there's no doubt Steven would want to stick around for a little bit longer to wreak more havoc between the Doctor and the latest incarnation of his oldest enemy.
