5. The Doctor Will Lose A Leg Before He Regenerates
According to the Sun's spoilerific article, Matt Smith's Doctor will end up losing a limb before he regenerates into Peter Capaldi. He will lose the limb after he is attacked by the returning Weeping Angels. The storyline was apparently written into the special after Matt Smith hurt his leg, and found his injury necessarily reflected in the show's script. The Sun says that the Doctor will lose his leg as he attempts to flee his collected enemies and hide in a clock tower - presumably the source of the ominous tolling bell that echoes across the universe. As he attempts his escape a Weeping Angel will grab hold of his leg, turning it to stone, which is a sure-fire way of losing any limb. Presumably there will be no repeat of David Tennant's part-regeneration that fixed his hand injury (since the leg injury was written in to reflect a real life injury.) Perhaps that revelation fits with the disembodied buried limbs that appear in the background of the poster?
