Doctor Who: All Doctors Ranked From Worst To Best

4. The Tenth Doctor - David Tennant

Best Episode: Human Nature / The Family Of Blood - Still the best two-parter of Nu-Who. Worst Episode: Fear Her - A scribble monster and the Oympics. The biggest stinker of Nu-Who! We're arguably at the point now where any of these final four entries could be interchangeable with each other. David Tennant certainly struck a chord in his portrayal of the Tenth Doctor, accelerating Doctor Who from good show to great over the course of his four years as the lead. A very human Doctor, he brought charm, humour and energy to the role and a whole lot of romance too; from Madame de Pompadour to Rose herself. Arguably, the Tenth Doctor is the most emotional Doctor of them all and Tennant always had audiences riveted. From his grief over the Master's death in Last Of The Timelords to his fury as the Time Lord Victorious in The Waters Of Mars. His "I don't want to go" pulled at the heart strings of every fan who has at least one heart, so much that it was repeated in his thrilling return in The Day Of The Doctor. Of course, there was a downside to this Doctor too; his emotions were easily swayed; he became too smug with Rose at times and almost ruined poor Martha, whom he treated like little more than a rebound. Arguably his best partnership was with his 'mate' Donna in his final full season. Tennant could deliver anything the script threw at him and that performance easily made him the new number one in polls after Tom Baker. But he was also so human at times that it was easy to forget that he was an alien and that is what stops him from reaching the number one spot.
