Zombies and The Doctor – what could possibly go wrong? The Walking Dead is one of the biggest television shows of all time with viewers topping fifteen million in the United States alone. The story of a Deputy who – like in so many post-apocalyptic epics – wakes up in a hospital to find the world overrun by Zombies.
But what if the first person Rick Grimes had met hadn’t been Morgan Jones? What if the first person he’d met had been a surly, grey haired individual with a big blue box that could take him anywhere in all of time and space? What if that same surly, grey haired individual had then refused to take Rick away and decided he wanted to find out what was really going on? Potentially, The Walking Dead would have taken a whole new direction. In fact, The Doctor would have probably cooked up a handy cure for the Zombies and this alternative world would have gone returned to normal without much fuss.
Some would say that would have ruined what has become a truly epic TV show, but The Doctor does this kind of thing week in, week out.
