Doctor Who: Matt Smith's 10 Greatest Moments

5. The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People-Doctor vs. Doctor

Almost People Dr Who In another two-part episode, €˜The Rebel Flesh€™ and €˜The Almost People€™, the Doctor, Amy, and Rory come upon a place where creatures called gangers are used as doppelgangers for their creators, programmed flesh for doing the dirty work, in a much more sinister version of Multiplicity with Michael Keaton. However, the gangers become conscious, after the realization that a ganger has been made of the Doctor himself. When this is found out, €˜The Almost People€™ opens with the still fleshy and terrifying ganger Doctor in a shouting argument with the normal Doctor, and the ganger Doctor€™s full acceptance of the Doctor, in an almost Reagan McNeill-ish performance by Matt Smith as he becomes the Doctor again, in a much more literal sense of the word this time.
