Doctor Who Review: Robot Of Sherwood - 9 Steps From Man To Myth

1. Living A Lucid Dream

Robin Hood is a man who wakes up within his own story. When the Doctor questions his existence, Robin is forced to think about whether it matters if people remember him as man or myth. He decides that it does not, and he reminds the Doctor that imparting hope is a noble thing. Robin is willing to give up his place in history so that his story may live on. It is the power of the legend to adapt and grow while inspiring and motivating that is the important thing not his individual glory. €œRobot of Sherwood€ is a good-natured romp that celebrates the power of story. It effectively advanced the character development of the Doctor, revealing a man who has his demons but does not allow that to get in the way of dealing with those who seek to use and abuse other beings. Clara was given a strong plot line and showed significant growth. Overall €œRobot of Sherwood€ was a fine effort from Mark Gatiss, perhaps more frivolous than the previous two episodes but no less fun.
