Doctor Who Series 12: Everything We Know So Far

3. It's Darker And More Frightening Than Series 11

Even when Doctor Who is dealing with some pretty grim subject matter (kidnapped babies, the end of the universe, everyone turning into John Simm) it's usually still quite playful and light-hearted, so it's hard to believe reports that use buzzwords like "scary!" and "frightening!" to describe the show.

“This new run is much scarier than Jodie’s first year and will definitely put the frighteners on fans. Things are about to get darker for the Doctor.”

Granted, The Mirror isn't regarded as one of the most credible sources in the business, but then again - in this same report - they also stated that the Cybermen would be returning, which was later revealed as true. Speaking of those shiny tin cans...

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
