Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Overrated Episodes
3. Book Of The Stranger (Season 6, Episode 4)
Okay, let's give credit where it's due. Surprisingly, Sansa had some of the best moments in this episode. She was reunited with Jon at Castle Black and both actors gave emotional performances. The Stark children had been separated for so long, and after all the injustice inflicted upon them, the audience needed this moment. But, that was about it.
We got a call back to Osha, another great character with lots of potential, but who disappeared for seasons at a time only to get a hastily wrapped up ending.
This was also when Tyrion started going downhill. For seasons he had been presented as the underdog. Despite his perceived short comings, Tyrion seemed like the guy who could impart a fair sense of rule. He was a character the show runners had invested hours of time in, but from here on out he would pine after Dany and make bad decision after bad decision. It was just another crossbow bolt to the guts.
Again the culmination to this episode felt so damn forced. It was full of recycled concepts all mashed together because the writers didn't know how to get Dany out of the situation they had written her into. In a not so subtle nod to her triumphant moment at the end of season one, Dany emerged naked and unburnt from an inferno with the Dothraki bowing down before her. Yawn... we get it, she's the white saviour.
