Some speculation has hovered around the announcement of Season 3, with many musing that this outing will be the last for the show as Frank's story reaches its natural end. The main logic behind this being that the British TV show from which the core ideas are borrowed was designed as a trilogy of series, and ended itself at the culmination of its third. Plus, there's also the notion that after one season out of the White House, one season in it, and now one running it, there's very little else for the show to cover. However, some simple maths and an acknowledgement that both David Fincher and Kevin Spacey like to do things in as clever a way as possible shows that we're probably only half way through. House of Cards Season 1 comprised of 13 episodes. House of Cards Season 2 comprised of 13 episodes. House of Cards Season 3 will comprise of 13 episodes. A fourth season, presuming that it also would comprise of 13 episodes, would bring us to a total of 52 episodes - the exact amount of cards one would find in a deck.
