It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Each Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best
Ranking the main players in It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia from worst to best.
Initially starting life as a short film before landing on TV as a pilot titled It’s Always Sunny On TV, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia has since become a cultural phenomenon.
Created by and starring Rob McElhenney in collaboration with fellow star Glenn Howerton, the series follows the misadventures of “The Gang”, a group of five narcissistic and self-destructive friends who operate a run-down Irish pub in South Philadelphia. Running for a massive 14 seasons and recently being renewed for three more (making it the longest-running live-action comedy series in US TV history), the show has seen The Gang find themselves in countless outrageous situations over the years.
With every character in the show epitomising the worst in humanity, describing any of the regulars of Paddy’s Pub as “likeable” would be grossly inaccurate. But thanks to the genius satirical writing and energy the cast bring to the show, every one of these characters has left a lasting impression on viewers even if they’re some of the most deplorable people to appear on TV.
But which of the key players has left a bigger impression than others?
9. Artemis Dubois
If someone is willing to continually get involved in The Gang’s antics, then it’s more than likely that they’re equally as strange.
One such person is Artemis Dubois. Portrayed by Artemis Pebdani, this honourable member of The Gang is one of Deandra’s friends from her acting class who we first met in when she’s brought in to audition for a Coyote Ugly-inspired bartender.
Unashamedly brazen in her sexuality, licking Dennis’s face the first time they meet, Artemis is equally as passionate about her acting as she is about insisting about performing nude in the most inappropriate situations. And despite being friends with Deandra, she’s just as indifferent and cruel to her as everyone else.
Since being acquainted with the rest o Dee’s group, Artemis has become a recurring fixture of their schemes. She displays a genuine interest in their plans – even if it’s for the entertainment value alone – and has went on to have a casual (and intensely sexual) relationship with Frank.
However, Artemis is perhaps best remembered by fans for her impassioned monologue where she claims to have single-handedly solved the mystery of who pooped the bed.
