Ozark Season 4: 12 Questions That Must Be Answered
7. What Does The Show Have Planned For Charlotte?
Charlotte Byrde took a back seat in season three.
When we first met the troubled teen, she was actively pushing back against her parents for being uprooted from her home in Chicago, and her spoiled teenage antics proved to be the linchpin for the family drama affecting the Byrde home.
Even in the second season, when her whole deal was getting emancipated from her parents, it was a bold character development. But strangely in the third season a reset button must have been pushed, as Charlotte spent a majority of her screen time as the receptionist/assistant to Wendy in the Byrde Enterprise offices or sunbathing with Erin.
One intriguing thing to pick up though was she appeared to have taken up underage drinking; mirroring her mother, who didn't more than two scenes without a glass of wine or vodka in her hand. If Charlotte sneaking wine when her parents weren't around was foreshadowing, there could be a tragedy in store for the next season.
Charlotte might be the closest to a level-headed person in the family; despite behaving like a reckless teenager in previous seasons. If the Navarro Cartel problems escalate, could we see Charlotte descend down a dark path overlooked by her parents?
